It’s OK to discuss your daily dietary intake. What your true diet consists of. But ‘going on a diet’? It’s like the opposite of going on vacation!
And that’s why this 4-letter word is now going to get it. From all of us.
The problem with going ‘on’ a diet is that we then come ‘off’ of said diet. And once we do, we inevitably resume eating whatever it was we were staying away from while on that diet. And when go back to whatever it is we were previously doing, our physique and weight go back to how and where they previously were. Not. Fun.
What if we instead never stopped eating all of the foods we love in the first place? What if instead we made minor adjustments that were acceptable and reasonable so that we could keep enjoying life AND reach our goals?
This is what we do as turtles. We put in the effort so that we can party like rock stars AND feel good about it both the morning and the week after.
No more rebounding! No more crashing! No more roller coaster rides! No more going up and down like a yo-yo!
Say yes to Transition. Say yes to moderation. Yes to acceptable compromise. Take a bite or two to see if something that looks good is also worth eating. If so, enjoy! If not, don’t eat it and save the calories for later.
And the best part? Whatever you do to lose or gain 5 lbs continues to apply for the next 50. The rumors about this being more difficult as we approach our DESIRED OUTCOMES? Rumors! It’s just as easy to approach GOAL and even easier to stay there. Why? Because, once at goal, we actually need to eat a bit more in order to not lose more weight! (Or a bit less to not continue gaining if that is our objective!) The truth is truly amazing.
